Class 10 Part -B Science Important Questions

Class -10th                      Electricity
Part -B
Subject :- Science

This post is for the students who are in class 10th and preparing board exam.

This post includes 10 Questions and their solutions. These 10 questions are from the chapter name Electricity.

First solve all Questions by our own and then match with our solution.

If you have any doubt related any topic or questions then Write in comment section or you can also ask in our youtube channel .

Another 10 Questions and their
Solution are given below.....

1. Current only flows when a circuit is complete.

2. Resistance is the property of a conductor.
 A resistor is a electrical component .

3. At constant temp. Resistance depends upon length , Area , Nature of material.
R= pL/A

4. For Question 4 please Subscribe our you tube channel :- Click here for youtube and subscribe

5. Total potential difference across a combination of resistors in series is equal to the sum of potential difference across the individual resistors.

 V = V1 + V2 + V3

Let I be the current in the circuit.
 : The current through each resistor is also I.
Let equivalent resistor of resistance R.

Acc. To Ohm's law,

V = IR

 On applying Ohm's law to the three resistors respectively we have

V1 = IR1

 V2 = IR2
V3 = IR3

And            V = V1+ V2 + V3

                       IR = IR1 + IR2 + IR3

                        R= R1 + R2 + R3

Ques - 6.

7. Ohm’s Law:- Law states that when current is passed between two points of a conductor, the current is directly proportional to the potential difference between two points.

 Mathematically , Ohm's law is given by
I∝V
I= V/R

V=IR

Where v is the potential difference , I is the current and R is the resistance.

8. The amount of charge flowing from A to B in time t is given by,

                    Q = I x t    [∵ I = Q / t]

As per the definition of potential difference,
Work done in carrying unit charge from A to B = V.

∴   Work done to bring charge Q from A to B is
                W = V x Q
                W = V x It

This amount of energy is expensed in overcoming the resistance offered by the resistor.

If whole of the energy is dispensed as heat, then the amount of heat produced is given by

⇒        H = VIt                        [∵  V = IR]
            H = I²Rt

Joule's law of heating is represented by the above equation.

Joule's law of heating states that the amount of heat produced in a conductor is:

(i) directly proportional to the square of the current,
(ii) directly proportional to the resistance of the conductor, and
(iii) directly proportional to the time for which the current is passed.

 9. Some applications based on heating effect of current are:-

1) Electric Fuse :--
2) Electric Iron :-
3) Bulb :-

Solutions :-

1:-  SI unit for electric charge -coulomb

  No. Of electrons in 1 coulomb of charge - 6.25×10^18

2. SI unit of current is ampere

3. To measure the current use  ammeter
Which is placed in series .
A series connection is used because objects in series have the same current passing through them.

4. miliampere (1mA=10^-3 A).

 microampere (1uA=10^-6 A).

5. Because of coulomb force .

6. a) Electric cell involves conversion of chemical energy to electrical energy.

b) Electric torch involves conversion of electrical energy into light and heat energy.

7. Electric potential difference between two points in a circuit is the work done to move the charge from one end to the other end of the circuit.

8. The SI unit of electric potential is the volt, which is defined as a joule per coulomb.

9. Voltmeter is used to measure the potential difference between two points in a circuit.it is connected in parallel in the circuit.
Voltmeters do not have infinite resistance, but their resistance must be as high as possible to avoid taking up current.If the meter is connected in series, it will block the flow of current due to its high resistance, in effect killing the circuit. By connecting it in parallel, most of the current will flow through the circuit, with the tiny bit diverted through the meter allowing measurements to be made.

10. It's ohm's law, which states that the current flowing through a conductor is directly proportional to the potential difference applied across its ends, keeping the temperature and other physical condition unchanged
